Kevin Feeley is a licensed clinical social worker in private practice (since 2000) and Ridgewood (NJ) public schools (since 2006). He began his career in social service with Catholic Charities in Paterson, New Jersey, where he worked with dually diagnosed (mentally ill and chemically dependent) persons for eight years. After earning a master of social work degree from Fordham, Kevin expanded his clinical experience to children, families, and persons affected by HIV in New Brunswick and Newark, New Jersey. In 2006, he began working at Ridgewood Public School district as a counselor to middle and high school students. There, Kevin developed and initiated a model of school counseling and student connection based on trauma-informed practices and attachment theory. His special school interests include leadership training for student leaders (sports captains, student government, etc.), providing more brain-focused education for students in health and wellness classes (i.e., a "user's manual" model of brain/body health), and continuing to provide support and training to young teachers and clinicians. His private practice clients are a mix of young people, adults, and families. Since studying Robert Bly's poetry and other writings in college, Kevin has been keenly interested in the issues facing men and boys throughout their lives.
