Before Santosha ever moved to the mountains, our dream to build your retreat was born in the charming fishing village of Phippsburg, ME at Santosha on the Kennebec.

This graceful waterfront property is now available to rent for your own boutique self-service retreats. At the mouth of the mighty Kennebec River, Santosha on the Kennebec offers cozy quarters that are both elegant and easy-going, featuring:

  • 6 private or shared elegantly curated guest rooms in the Main House, Lodge, and Bunkhouse, including semi-private host staff quarters, 6 washrooms, and bespoke amenities:

    • The Admiral Room (Main House): one king bed or two twin beds (also contains sleeper sofa if needed), with private balcony overlooking the water, ensuite washroom (shower), and elegant gas fireplace

    • The Bowline Room (Main House): one king bed with private balcony overlooking the water and pool, and ensuite washroom (soaking tub and shower)

    • The Chart Room (Main House): one king bed or two twin beds overlooking the saltwater pool with detached private washroom (shower)

    • The Dory Room (Main House): two twin beds with detached private washroom (shower)

    • The Ebb Tide Room (Lodge): one king bed or two twin beds just off the Yoga Shala with detached shared washroom (shower)

    • The Crow’s Nest (Lodge): semi-private sleeping loft with a twin trundle bed, great for a host or support staff member with detached shared washroom (shower)

    • The Foretop (Bunkhouse): one king bed or two twin beds on the second floor of the Bunkhouse with detached shared washroom

    • The Berth (Bunkhouse): 2 x twin bunk beds (maximum capacity of 4 total) on the first floor of the Bunkhouse with detached shared washroom

  • Ideal occupancy: Main House (8), Lodge (2 + host), and Bunkhouse (4-6)

  • Stately library with gas fireplace and open concept living room, formal dining room

  • Two yoga practice spaces: choose between our Maine pine-lined Yoga Shala with space for 12 mats (and larger meditation circles) or our larger practice space (a finished garage), and all necessary equipment (including mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, and meditation cushions)

  • Two complete kitchens and flexible dining arrangements, including self-catering, off-site catering with self-service, and on-site chef service, featuring farm-to-table menus made of local, sustainably sourced Maine ingredients

  • Elevator in the Main House for folks limited in mobility

  • Saltwater pool (June 1 - September 30) and jacuzzi (year-round) with expansive decks and screened porch overlooking the water

  • Fieldstone fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs tucked into the tall pines

  • Direct access to the Kennebec River on a tidy little dock for your morning cup of coffee or tea to watch bald eagles dive from the cliffs

  • A short drive to Popham Beach, Maine’s best-kept secret local beach (don’t tell anyone!)
